OSI Machinist 1 needed

Job Summary:

The Machinists assembles, repairs and fabricates metallic and nonmetallic parts, by operating mechanical equipment. Fits and assembles machined parts sub-part and/or complete units. Using blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product. Applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques, operating conventional, special-purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 Light programming, training with the Lead Machinist
 Run all CNC and manual machines as instructed
 Operate all manual machines as instructed
 Assist and programming in Guide stock
 Relief and fill in lead surface grinders
 Guide stock relief
 Work with Precision Grinder on straight edges, fill in on this position when needed
 Perform daily and weekly maintenance on machine shop equipment as needed
 Other fill in positions as needed

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
 Prior experience in machine center or general manual machining and manufacturing
 Prior experience of CNC operations
 High school diploma or equivalent. Can substitute education with years of experience related to this position.
