John Harvey Newbury
Shown here standing in front of Jim Wright's Glasair III, John has had an impressive career. In 1933 John worked with Howard Hughes as a design engineer on the H-1. John's career spans a number of fields including art, aircraft design, and architecture.
Summer 2001: We are saddened by the passing away of John. We are very grateful that John was able to make the journey to Cottage Grove, Oregon, to visit the project this year. John was the keynote speaker at the first official rolling out of the H-1 here in Cottage Grove. We feel very fortunate to have shared his insights into the H-1, Howard Hughes, and life in general.We will miss him.
