Subsequent to WWII there have been many stories circulated that the designer of the Zero somehow obtained copies of the plans for the H-1, which he incorporated in the design of the Zero (which certainly bore a striking configurational resemblance to the H-1) & I seem to recall that Howard Hughes himself 'implied' as much, while testifying before a cogressiona committee. Has any of your research confirmed any aspects of this story?
